To exhibit at the next International Biennale of Miniature Art, please fill out the form below and read the conditions of participation. The deadline to register remains to be confirmed.
The exhibition is open to professional visual arts artists who meet the following eligibility requirements:
*The supporting props must be included with the digital pieces of work. Smartphones or small screens are accepted (the size of the image must not exceed the mandatory dimensions). Are accepted: animated GIFs, videos, photos or pieces created with digital tools. Please contact the exhibition coordinator for more details.
The organizers of the IMAB reserve the right to change the category of the submitted piece if deemed inappropriate. The artist will be notified of any change.
Two-dimensional pieces : maximum 3 X 4 in. (7.5 X 10 cm);
Three-dimensional pieces : maximum 3 X 3 X 4 in. (7.5 X 7.5 X 10 cm), including base or support.
Maximum Weight : 350 grams
Do not exceed the maximum dimensions stated above. For example, a piece of 2 inches X 5 inches will be refused because its width exceeds the maximum 4 inches allowed.
If any entry exceeds the maximum dimensions as stated, the entry will be disqualified.

If the artist does not set a price for his or her entry, a minimum selling price of $50 (CAN) will be established by IMAB; all pieces will be insured for a maximum of $1000.
An artist may submit one or two pieces of work. Administration and framing costs for the first entry are $25 and for the second, $15. Entry fees are payable in Canadian dollars only in the following ways :

Each piece submitted for the exhibition is automatically for sale. IMAB will keep a 30% commission on the selling price specified by the artist on the Registration Form for every piece sold through IMAB. For every piece sold, artists that have paid the entry fees online will be paid via Paypal; all others will be paid by check.
The jury is made up of three prominent art professionals. The members of the jury will select a winning artwork in each category. The decisions of the jury are final and without appeal.
If his or her piece is selected for an award or an honourable distinction, the artist will be notified immediately. The award winners will be announced at the opening evening of the IMAB.
Total prize value: $4,000
The artist grants IMAB a non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to copy, publish and communicate in any communication products designed to promote the event, any representation of the pieces submitted for the exhibition. This licence is not subject to territorial limits and remains active up to two years from the date of the jurying.
The organizers of the IMAB will ensure that the name of the artist, the title of the work and the year of the creation will appear with any images used for promotional purposes.
IMAB bears liability for any lost or damaged piece of work while on Gallery premises up to but not exceeding $1,000. The Gallery cannot be held accountable for any damages occurring in transit to or from its premises.
All unsold pieces of work will be returned to the artist within three months after the end of the exhibition. The mailing cost for returning the artwork to the participating artists will be covered by the Rift Gallery. The Gallery cannot be held accountable for any damages occurring in transit to or from its premises.

Entries received by mail must be postmarked on or before the deadline. All entries received after the deadline will be refused and returned.
The artist is responsible for any customs duties if applicable.
A confirmation of receipt and a notice of registration will be sent by e-mail after March 1st 2018.
Entries will only be refused if the artwork does not meet the mandatory criteria for dimensions. The role of the jury is not to exclude pieces but to select the pieces that will receive awards and distinctions.
Participating artists will receive communications from the IMAB via e-mail. It is the artist’s responsibility to write his or her contact information clearly on the Registration Form. If the e-mail of the artist or the mailing address is incorrect or illegible, the IMAB shall not be liable for any inconvenience that this might cause.
The IMAB invites participating artists to take part in a virtual exhibition, on the Gallery’s website at www.lerift.ca/biennale. This online exhibition aims not only to promote the work of participating artists, but also to allow artists that cannot be on site to view the exhibition.
The IMAB is committed to protect the copyright of artists by posting images no greater than 72 dpi on its website and by using measures to impede unauthorized reproduction.
